Here are some past kittens who went to new homes,
de-sexed, micro-chipped, vaccinated and with their kitten packs at the ready.
RAISING SHARADA KITTENS
I have a fairly small cattery – usually 5 or 6 mature ladies and one or two gentlemen.
Kittens at Sharada are born and reared in the house or a very comfortable Cattery building. I have a special “cat room” allocated as a Nursery and my mums are always very happy here as it is equipped with cat furniture and has a window down to the floor where they can sun themselves while nursing and playing with their bubs. As the kittens become litter trained they are allowed loose in the house and exposed to domestic noises and activity. They have access to an outside enclosure equipped with tall scratch posts and lots of toys and fresh air.
In the busy kitten season when there is more than one litter the older kittens spend some of their time in a bungalow/cattery which has household furniture including TV and Radio.
COSTS
A PET quality kitten
generally costs $650 which includes de-sexing costs, at least one vaccination
or two depending on age and micro-chipping. Kittens are ready from 10 to 12+ weeks and will be vet checked, vaccinated, wormed, flea free and well socialised – bathed, groomed, and used to handling.
Each kitten collected personally has a starter pack which consists of a litter tray, scoop, litter sample, two toys, food bowls and food samples and a comprehensive folder which includes pictures of mum and dad, pedigree and a number of useful articles plus forms to join the Birman Clubs. I will ship Interstate but need to talk to the potential owner personally – costs associated with transport are additional. Overseas enquiries will be dealt with individually but I DO NOT sell entire or unaltered kittens to Asian Countries.
Occasionally a show quality or breed quality kitten may be available and the price will start at $800-$1200+ depending on quality. I only sell these to Registered Breeders who satisfy my requirements for their care and well being and they have a “contract/agreement” that needs to be signed aimed at protecting the cat. I do not like my cats to be kept only caged and this includes entire males.
GUARANTEE
Kittens are health checked and guaranteed and
may be replaced should death result in the first 12mths because of congentital
defects - Post Mortem OR vet letter may be required.
AVAILABILITY
As Birmans are seasonal breeders and do not breed in the Winter there is almost always a waiting list particularly if you have a colour preference. If you would like to be included in the waiting list please fill in the Kitten Enquiry form and I can notify you when a kitten becomes available.
