Plants toxic to cats

If you suspect your cat has ingested a toxic plant, seek veterinary advice immediately. If consumption has occurred recently, your veterinarian will be able to induce vomiting to prevent further absorption of the toxins. Bring along a sample of the plant, or take a photo of the plant.

I have included a number of Australian plants which are toxic to cats that are not listed elsewhere.

Pet Poisons Hotline (America) – 855-764-7661

Australian pet owners, please contact your own veterinarian or an emergency veterinarian if after hours.

Some plants, such as aloe vera have many species, in which case you will see spp. after the name.
